Playrooms Need Consistent Fresh-Air Movement
In active group-play areas, the goal is steady dilution without creating a draft at dog level. Supply air should be distributed through the room rather than dumped into one corner, and return or exhaust points should pull used air away from the occupied zone. Dead spots behind barriers, under mezzanines, and in enclosed indoor-outdoor runs are common trouble areas.

The incoming air must be conditioned, distributed properly, and balanced with exhaust.
Use local mechanical code as the baseline, then discuss your operating reality with an HVAC contractor who understands animal-care facilities. Bring your actual dog counts, daily schedule, room dimensions, laundry volume, bathing setup, and odor concerns to that conversation. A system sized for a low-occupancy office may be undersized for a full daycare playroom.
